Hi Bear Club Members,
This months news is mostly about some really great specials that we have uncovered for you.
Most of our local suppliers have been a little quite on the news front as they prepared and attended the big annual trade fair in Melbourne, no doubt they will have a lot of news for us next month about all their new releases from the fair.
Most have been busy finalising their ranges for the rest of the year and getting a lot of great new designs ready for the busy Christmas period.
We did plan on having a Bearington Bears night and showcasing all the latest Winter & fall designs from the USA but the shipment has been delayed and it is no good having a new product release event without the new products.
Therefore we have moved the Bearington Event over to next month the 14th of September.
Instead this month will be a Charlie Bear event which I know will please many of our members as Charlie Bears are fast becoming our biggest selling range of teddy bears.
There are some super specials and double members discounts on all Charlie Bears in stock plus the chance to win a retired and hard to get Chocolate Fondue limited edition.

MORE RECORD PRICES FOR CHARLIE BEARS!
 A few months ago I reported that a Charlie Bears CHEESECAKE had achieved an amazing price on
E-Bay in England, well not only Cheesecake but quite a number of Charlie Bears including retired designs like Chocolate Fondue, Blueberry Muffin, Mr Chips and many others are achieving remarkable prices as collectors scramble to get these very desirable and now retired teddy bears.
I did a recent search of E-bay UK looking to see what Chocolate Fondue was now selling for but could not find any current listings for him, very few actually come up for sale and the last one I could track down sold for 532 UK Pounds which is (approximately $1056 AUD).
I did however find these two recent sales results for Cheesecake which shows just how good an investment these bears are becoming.
When we had them available for sale we were selling Cheesecake for $259 and Chocolate fondue for $249, not a bad return on investment in only a few short months, that is if you could bear to part with these cute little guys at all.
This was a great result for the seller, conversion to Australian Dollars is approximately $1012.
This one did even better at approximately $1290 AUD.
If you are one of the fortunate collectors who have any of these bears then you have indeed been lucky to get one as they were made in very limited editions hence their desirability to collectors. Cheesecake was limited to only 300 world wide and Chocolate Fondue was limited to only 500 bears world wide.

FANTASTIC RESPONSE TO ALAINE’S BEARS!
 A few months ago we welcomed a new Western Australian Bear Artist ALAINE FERREIRA of Bearflair to our team of Artists who make exclusive limited edition and one of a kind bears for us.
Her unusual approach to her designs has struck a chord with many of our members who just cant get enough of her very quirky little bears.
In particular the “long necked designs” have been selling out almost as fast as we can get them.
Alaine appreciates that a teddy must have an instant appeal to collectors and also must be affordable so she endeavours to keep her prices in the lower range for mohair artist bears of this quality, with most of the long necked designs selling for only $99.
If you know anything at all about collectable bear prices you will agree that these bears are sensational value as well as being some of the most loveable and appealing characters available.
Most are “one of a kind” creations with a few being made in limited editions of only 3-5 bears.
This very talented and creative West Australian bear artist, know around the world for her beautiful bears and was a finalist in the 2009 ABC Awards.
She is now well established with our collectors and has now joined the ranks of leading Australian Artists invited to regularly make beautiful exclusive bears for Nana's Teddies & Toys.
Her designs feature a range of styles including traditional, funky, weird and wonderful bears which she creates from a diverse range of fabrics including mohair and Alpaca fur they are all fully jointed and many feature “wobble necks”.
She loves mixing and matching colours to create truly magnificent little individuals.
All her bears come with their very own birth certificate, dated and signed by the artist and include a laminated Bearflair Certificate of Authenticity.

  Aaliyah 1/1 on the left is one of the 24 cm Long Necked designs which have a real quirkiness about them and have proven to be very popular wherever they have been seen.

Misty is another 1/1 “one of a kind” Long necked bear.
She stands 23cm, and is made from a delicately soft mauve mohair, she has darker purple suede paw pads with pulled toes and purple satin ribbon in her hair.

CHARLIE BEARS UPDATE.
Next shipment due early September
We have just received confirmation that another large container has left Thailand heading for Australia, it is expected to arrive in approximately 3 weeks however at this stage we have not had the manifest on exactly which designs we are getting in this shipment.
If you have any bears on order and they are in this shipment we will call you the moment we receive them.
I know many of you have been quite frustrated by the long delays we are experiencing in getting our Charlie Bears through, a frustration we at Nana’s share with you, particularly not being able to get even estimated arrival dates or know what bears are in each shipment until they arrive.
Charlie Bears are acutely aware of the problems their production delays are causing their stockists and collectors alike and are doing their best to fulfil the huge amount of orders that flooded in when the new range was released last August.
Charlie Bears did not predict the absolutely phenomenal response world-wide to their new collection and were inundated with orders 4 times greater that their factory could deliver before Christmas.
They are working double shifts to catch up but as the bears are all hand made you cannot rush them without sacrificing quality which is something Charlie and William will not allow to happen under any circumstances.
The mohair Isabelle Collection is coming through slower than the plush ranges as only the most experienced of their bear makers have the skills to bring these beautiful collectable bears to life, a fact that any one fortunate enough to own an Isabelle Collection bear will appreciate.
