Hi Bear Club Members,
If sensational bargains hold any interest for you then this months newsletter will warm the cockles of your heart.
With Christmas not far away now we are starting to get all our festive stocks arriving and as well as great prices on some extremely delightful new designs we have been negotiating with some of our favourite suppliers to bring you the best discounts and bargains you will see this year.
 This month we are pleased to welcome Bearington Bears as the sponsor of our monthly “Teddies on Parade” event, we are featuring some of the most popular designs that Bearington have ever produced at heavily discounted prices.
Why are we discounting great designs you may wonder, well the answer is simple. The Bearington importer needs to make room for all the new season designs that are arriving in the next month or so and needs to clear stock so we have done a deal (I love deals) to clear these retiring best seller designs at 50% or more off their regular prices, see this Month Super Specials for details on what’s on offer.
As well as these great bargains we are offering all Bearington designs not listed in the specials list but currently in stock at 20% off normal prices. (see this months “Teddies on Parade” event for more details.
We all know it has been quite tough year for many of the manufacturers in our industry and sadly some of them have not made it through the GFC.
Others have taken the pro active path and with the improvement in the Aussie Dollar over the past few months are offering prices that we have not seen for many years on a huge variety of new designs and even some old favourites that have come back into stock.
In spite of the shrinking ranges from some brands there is still a lot of really exciting designs being made and our selection has grown by almost 1000 new products this year, we now have over 15,000 individual designs for you to choose from and all of them are listed in our award winning on-line catalogue.

The good, the bad and the cuddly!
The great teddy bear shipwreck mystery
 For over 100 years there has been speculation over the disappearance of 3000 Steiff bears, not just any Steiff Bears however but the very first production of the modern teddy as we know it.
Many stories have circulated but the one that I will give you the link to seems to be the most common and has a strong element of truth to it.
I have heard and retold this tale of this bear PB55 many times but one of our members (thank you Bob) sent me this link which sheds light on a very complete accounting of this mystery
It is a fascinating read and explains a lot more than I had known previously but it also poses many new questions.

SETTLER BEARS CHRISTMAS 2011 COLLECTION
 ALREADY RETIRED

Each year the Settler Christmas collection sells out fairly quickly as they only make a limited quantity of them which enhances their collectability.
Settler have already advised that the 2011 collection has met with even greater demand and is already all but gone.
We have only a few of each design still available so if you like these bright and cheerful bears get in fast as this may be the last chance you will get to adopt any of them.

 peoples choice awards finalists
A special thanks to all our members who voted for us in the recent Blue Mountains Peoples Choice Awards.
We received hundreds of votes which pushed us through to the finals, we find out if we are the category winners at a presentation dinner tonight (Friday 14th) so please all cross you fingers or say a little prayer for us.
I will let you know in next months newsletter how we go in the finals.

chARLIE BEAR ARRIVALS
 A big new shipment of Charlie Bears has just cleared customs and is arriving in store early next week (17th - 19th)
This shipment only has Plush designs in it, we are still waiting on confirmation of when the next Isabelle mohair designs will be coming but they shouldn’t be too far off now.
Both new designs and some long awaited, now retired old favourites that are returning to stock for the last time will be in this shipment, they include:
Adam - Daisy - Dottie Lottie - Freckles - Graeme - Hayden - Jed - Ludo - Mark - Paddywack - Puddifoot - Shaun - William IV and the very last of our most popular design ever Woody.
If you have pre-ordered any of these designs we will be contacting you once we unpack and check them all to organise getting them to their new homes.
As the Charlie Bear phenomenon continues to grow at unprecedented rate these amazing bears with personalities are becoming much harder to get with many designs selling out on pre-order long before any of them reach our store.
If you fancy any of the “new arrivals” don’t leave it too long to adopt them as I know from experience that they generally don’t last long on the shelves.
