Abraham was a descendant of Noah, and the Lord told him to take his wife Sarah to the land Canaan, where he promised that the land would be given Abraham’s offspring, but as yet Sarah had not given birth to any babies.
Many years later, three men visited, one being the Lord himself, unbeknownst to Abraham.
The Lord told Abraham that Sarah would have a son.
Sarah laughed at the thought as she was too old to give birth.
The following year, Sarah gave birth to a son whom they named Isaac, which means “he is smiling”.
